How to create the Countdown timer in Amote Cart Drawer?

When a customer adds a product to the cart, the countdown timer is automatically triggered. It displays a live ticking clock that shows customers how much time they have left to complete their purchase (for example during a flash sale or limited-time offer). This helps create urgency and can boost conversions directly inside the cart drawer.

How to Set It Up

Step 1: Enable Amote in Your Theme

Make sure the Amote app embed is enabled in your Theme Editor.

Step 2: Enable Countdown Timer

1. Open Amote in your Shopify Admin.
   
   

2. Go to Upsell & Cross-sell → Cart Drawer.
   
   

3. Enable Countdown Timer Bar.
   

You will see two main sections:

• General Settings – Configure countdown logic and content
  
  

• Appearance – Customize the look of the countdown bar
  

Step 3: Configure General Settings

In General Settings, set up how the countdown timer works:

• Widget message: The text shown together with the countdown timer.
  
  

• Countdown duration (minutes): Set how long the countdown runs.
  
  

• Choose Countdown behavior when time ends:
  
  

  • Repeat the countdown – Restart the timer from the beginning
    
    

  • Hide the timer – Deactivate the announcement bar after the countdown ends
    
    

• Announcement text: Input the main message displayed inside the announcement bar to highlight urgency or promotions.

Step 4: Customize Appearance

In the Appearance section, you can:

• Choose the widget size (Small or Full Widget)
  

• Apply your Global colors or manually customize contents in Section Color

Step 5: Save and Test

Click Save, then visit your storefront and add products to the cart to test how the Countdown Timer bar works.
